Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups apples, peeled and diced
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions:
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt
In a separate bowl, combine the milk, egg, and vanilla extract
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until well combined
Fold in the diced apples
Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350F 175C
Drop spoonfuls of the apple batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning them to cook evenly, about 2-3 minutes per side
Remove the fritters with a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil
Dust the apple fritters with powdered sugar while they are still warm
Serve immediately and enjoy
